Having traveled extensively, which country would you say has influenced your art most and why? Oh, I really think it is has become a mix of the countries I lived in. The less is more of Sweden, the love for ink from Japan, the admiration of the old masters of Italy and the breaking of the rules from NYC. And also living in Queens in New York City, learning to find beauty in unexpected places.

Social media, particularly Instagram, has been quite a platform for emerging and established artists – tell us how social media has been constructive for your art career: I really tried to stay away from it all for a long time. I have a pretty hectic career as well as three kids, I know that each new endeavor takes time. But now it has become an integral part of my work and the way I work. And I love the direct feel of it, the contact with people from around the world and the way I can show my process not only finished pieces. So, I have changed my mind.

Your work is very fluid and effortlessly beautiful to watch as you demonstrate on your live animations, which new direction would you like to see your art take form? I would love to draw bigger and bolder. Larger brushes, thicker paint. But I also love the everyday work with projects coming in and problems to solve.

Fashion obviously plays a big part in your work; who/where do you get your inspiration from for these portraits? I admire strong women. I want my fashion portraits to convey that strength. I would love them not simply to be mannequins showing clothing, but rather showing the woman who would where Balenciaga, Marni or Delpozo.
